Thomas F. Chen

Senior Vice President, International Nutrition

Thomas Chen is senior vice president, Nutrition International Operations. He was appointed to his current role in April 2006. Previously he served as vice president, Asia and Latin America, Abbott Nutrition International.

He joined Abbott in 1988 as general manager for Abbott Taiwan in the company's international pharmaceutical division. He has held several management positions in Asia, including regional director, greater China. Chen also served as vice president, Pacific, Asia and Africa operations for Abbott International.

Before joining Abbott, Chen held several senior management positions at Cyanamid.

Chen serves on the board of the Abbott Chinese Cultural Network. He also serves on the United Way of Lake County "Success by Six" committee, an initiative to promote early education for children.

He earned a bachelor's degree in international business from National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.
