Hakim Bouzamondo, M.D., MSc, MBA, is divisional vice president of Abbott’s Nutrition Global Research and Development. He is responsible for pediatric, adult and performance nutrition product development, innovation, education, clinical and preclinical research. He leads a team of more than 600 scientists, across five R&D centers located in the Americas, EMEA and Asia.
He joined Abbott in 2014 as divisional vice president of Global Scientific & Medical Affairs. In this role, he was responsible for developing and managing an integrated Medical & Scientific Affairs organization, enhancing the quality of clinical research conducted and ensuring interdisciplinary collaboration across the business. Hakim redefined key science research platforms and created a user experience team to better address rapidly evolving consumer needs.
Hakim is also the chair of the Executive Committee of the Center for Nutrition, Learning and Memory – an innovative partnership between Abbott Nutrition and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign focused on research at the crossroads of nutrition and neuroscience.
Hakim is a medical doctor by training. He has an MSc degree and completed his pharmacology post-doctoral training at Paris University. He also completed an executive MBA from Ashridge Business School in the United Kingdom.
