Part of being a parent is knowing when to create your own rules – especially if they’ll lead to fuller lives for your family and kids.

Four mom bloggers who’ve been sharing their own stories inspired by LIFE. TO THE FULLEST. – Laura Fuentes, Dariela Cruz of Mami Talks, Stephanie Dulgarian of Somewhat Simple, and Chelsea Day of Someday I’ll Learn – have done just that. Each recently told her readers about life-changing experiences that have shaped their worlds in surprising ways.

  • In “Our Homeschooling Adventure,” full-time entrepreneur Laura Fuentes shares her decision to educate her kids on her own terms. “I’ve made it my mission to explore the world, one country at a time, with them,” she writes. “I want my kids to know and learn about other cultures – including my Spanish heritage and language, at times when it’s most convenient for my husband and me, without being limited by the school calendar.”
  • In “5 Ideas for Parent One on One Time,” Stephanie Dulgarian of Somewhat Simple offers a fresh new take on making her five kids feel special. She writes: “My husband and I have recently started a tradition in which I get to take each of our kids away for a weekend when they turn 12. I just returned home from a trip with my oldest son – we spent a weekend together in San Francisco and made some fantastic memories!”
  • You don’t have to travel far from home to discover new ways of thinking, writes bilingual Mami Talks blogger Dariela Cruz in “A Staycation Week with the Kids.” “Even if you don’t have time for a full family vacation trip soon, I invite you to take at least 2 days off your regular routine and plan a staycation … If you are afraid or nervous or uncomfortable to do something like this (I felt all this), even better!”
