We asked parents to share their kids' responses to questions about concussions. Hear what they have to say in this entertaining yet informative video we're using to raise awareness about the subject.
From explaining what a concussion is to giving advice for what to do if you get one, kids offer their honest and humorous thoughts on this common, yet often misunderstood, condition.
And even though they’re just kids, their ideas about concussion – many times misconceptions – are quite similar to what a lot of adults think, like that you need to lose consciousness, even though most people with a concussion don’t do so. Or that you need to hit your head to get a concussion, which isn’t always the case, as even whiplash can cause a concussion.
Be sure to watch the video. Not only will it make you laugh, but you’ll be more educated on what to do if you suspect someone has a concussion. The sooner people are diagnosed with a concussion, the sooner they can rest, recover and be healthier to return to the activities they enjoy most.
