From Inspired To Admired

Abbott tops Fortune's Most Admired Companies list in industry.

Inspiration. We all draw it from somewhere.

From scientists, artists, athletes, and ordinary people who push past their own limits.

Admiration is born from this inspiration.

The people we admire push us as a company to achieve great things, and that’s being recognized.

Abbott has been named the Most Admired Company in the medical products and equipment industry by Fortune magazine for the fourth straight year. We’ve also made the overall list every year since 1984.

And we couldn't have done it without the people who inspire us to do the work we do.

Like Ana María Canaval Landázuri, a competitive swimmer in Peru at the age of 65.

It's people like her who motivate us to come to work each day and help others live their fullest, healthiest lives.

To all these people, we say, "Thank you."

A Look at the "Most Admired" List

Every year, Fortune, one of the world's leading business publications, surveys industry analysts, outside directors, and senior executives from Fortune 1000 and Global 500 companies to determine which companies are the world's most admired.

They consider a company's financial soundness, global competitiveness, innovation, people management, quality of management, quality of products and services, social responsibility, use of corporate assets, and value as a long-term investment.

St. Jude Medical, the company we recently acquired, also made the list.
