According to Fast Company, over 850 companies applied from more than two dozen countries around the world for the magazine's second innovative workplace awards, which are "designed to celebrate companies able to demonstrate a sustained commitment to fostering a culture that encourages innovation at all levels."

Abbott's Global Viral Surveillance Program is a powerful example of how our innovative spirit pairs with a culture of hard work and dedication to enhance lives around the world. Last November, a team of Abbott's virus hunters announced the discovery of a new strain of HIV called HIV-1 Group M, subtype L. This breakthrough keeps the global health community a step ahead of the virus.

This is the latest of several honors Abbott has earned in 2020, along with being one of the Top 100 Global Innovators, a Top 50 Company for Diversity and a Fortune Best Big Company to Work For.
