Dr. Mahmood Kazemi is the Divisional Vice President of Global Medical & Scientific Affairs and Chief Medical Officer for Abbott's Diabetes Care business.
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Kazemi knows first-hand the challenges that physicians and people living with diabetes face when treating and managing their health. He has worked throughout his career to improve the lives of people with diabetes, whether by providing direct clinical care or by advancing new tools and technologies for diabetes treatment.
Before joining Abbott, he was a medical director at Sanofi, having transitioned to industry following years in medical practice. Dr. Kazemi was also previously an assistant clinical professor of medicine in the diabetes division at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Kazemi is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and a member of the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society.
He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Stanford University, and a medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco.
